considering a championship can't be won by one person, it takes a great TEAM to win a ring, i don't understand why championships matter as much as they do when discussing the greatness of a player. GM's and owners are the ones who should be judged based off of how many rings the organization has, a great player can't help it if he's surrounded by dudes who cant get the job done

it shouldn't matter when talking about football because the roster is so large and you only play one side of the ball.
in basketball tho yes because a player has such an impact on a team.and can do so much on his own but it shouldn't be the 1st thing that comes in an argument or comparison of players

co sign; bball is the only n american sport that if your best player is not on the floor, the impact felt is greater when compared to the same situation in football, baseball, hockey

only nikkas who never played sports would ask such a question

its winning or nothing dawg

no great player can win by themselves....sure.....but the inability of a great player to deliver when put in the situation to win it all can't be excused......LeBron choking when it matters is more of a detriment than him just not winning yet

also he's lost multiple times when he went into the playoffs as the odds on favorite to win the title and his team having home court advantage

I feel like in basketball, one player can take over a game and deliver a championship. Sure you need the help from your teammates...but when theres only 10 people on the court who play both offense and defense, your more susceptible to have more control of the game. Whereas in baseball if your a fuuckking stud hitter and your SP isn't doing shiiit, you won't win, or in football you can throw all the TDs you want as a QB, but if your defense sucks, there's really nothing you can do.

That being said, theres times when elite athletes step up and do clutch things in the most crucial moments that makes them champions. There are also players who are fortunate and get too much hype because they were more fortunate and lucky than they were good
