African Americans deserve some sort of reperations for sure. There are several wealthy white families, and big corporations who made their money from slavery. I was reading the other day that slavery was a trillion dollar business(adjusted for inflation).

It won't happen. There are too many black americans for this to happen. Plus, not all indian tribes recieve the same amount. There is one tribe in Minnesota where each member receives 1 million dollars a year from casinos. Other tribes don't get anything.

ehh Idk about each individual receiving payment, but something that beneftis the black community would be fair.. such as HBCUs (stated above) or some sort of incentive or program that promotes entrepreneurship in the black community.​

i dont think as a whole, that this would be a good thing for the black community. if you just hand nikkas some money, that shyt will be wasted and set us back 100 years by the time the bank account clears.

I think it should be set up like the homestead act. maybe you meet x requirements, and they hook you up with maybe a secured grant/scholarship or a housing stipend. Maybe if you complete x credit hours of school in a STEM degree you get y, keep a min gpa of something slightly above 3.0, something set up that cant be abused and wasted

IT's not gonna happen. Government has fukked that up for both Native Americans and African Americans, only way to do it is to buy land and past it on due to the next generation or build a business on it.

Well, Native Americans obtained sovereign reservations because of existing treaties with the government from way back when, and the courts ruled that they had to honor the treaties.

While slavery and the European invasion of the Americas are both terrible tragedies with negative effects to this day, there's no reason for the government to do this.

But they SHOULD work harder to address the many problems facing black Americans that are more or less a result of how they were/are unjustly treated.
