Casting is about to get underway on the strangest of Marvel Studios' upcoming superhero features - James Gunn's "Guardians Of The Galaxy."
Now comes a report that a short list has been drawn up of actors to test for the key role of Star-Lord (aka. Peter Quill), an interplanetary policeman and the Guardians leader who is born of a human mother and alien father.
As Marvel Studios does each time it looks to land a lead for a superhero franchise, Kevin Feiges hit-making studio has put together a short list for the lead in its next major project, Guardians Of The Galaxy. Marvel, after reportedly hiring James Gunn as director, has begun the effort to cast Peter Quill, the Guardians leader who is the offspring of a human mother and an alien father. Im hearing that
Marvel is reportedly making test deals with the likes of Joel Edgerton ("Warrior"), Jack Huston ("Boardwalk Empire"), Jim Sturgess ("Cloud Atlas"), Lee Pace ("The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey") and Eddie Redmayne ("Les Miserables").
There's also reportedly interest from the likes of Garrett Hedlund ("Tron: Legacy"), James Marsden ("X-Men") and Sullivan Stapleton ("Strike Back").
No further word on any of the other roles, concept art released in July indicated we can expect to see Drax the Destroyer, Groot, Rocket Racc00n and Gamora in the line-up.
