Finally started watching this. seems decent enough but i'm hoping for a flash forward soon on this first episode cause the protagonist are way too young.

there's gonna be obvious spoilers but i'll be sure to tag mine. hopefully people will stop spoiling it in the general anime thread now.

i really hate the main character at this point. he's a whiny brat. the type of person that has all these wants and ideals but no way to achieve them and lashes out at anybody in his path because he lacks the power to do so.

Yup. He's pretty much Ed Elrich without the talent and complexity.

i thought Edward was a solid character. he was idealistic but he had enough to back up his big talk. this kid is literally a nobody with marginal skill talking so much shyt just because he wants to do something. Edward wanted to save people and you knew he could pull it off. this is the type of kid that runs gun-ho into the heat of battle and comes back in a body bag or in pieces.

his sister is who he should try to be like not just for her skill but her demeanor.

I agree. I think this is by design though. I don't think we're supposed to buy into this whole "kill all the titans" thing just yet. There will be some character development and he'll become an Edward type that will be less focused on revenge and more about saving the human race. Skill will likely follow... though I doubt he'll ever be as gifted as his sister.

Or that's my prediction anyway

this show is straight brilliant when something is happening but its been few and far between. when a Titan shows up its like it goes from Clark Kent to Superman. overall i'd say the show is just ok but i can see its potential. it probably has to start out this way to make you know and care about the characters.

When titan got Eren's leg I was like "eh he'll probably get artificial one"
Then when titan was about to eat this blonde wuss I thought "well good, didnt care about him anyway "
but then Eren sacrificed himself for this bytch boy and I was like they killed off main character just like that
