To keep it a buck, she’s 100 percent right. The current work model doesn’t work in todays society for the most part. I got this off a yahoo story, and the boomers and Gen X comments were shytting on her.

They were told to work hard all your life then retire and relax. Don’t nobody want to waste decades of time working to pay bills, then live out the final 20 years thinking back on all the shyt they missed out on or tying to do all the things they wanted to do in their 20’s and 30’s but couldn’t.

It’s why there’s a mental and physical health epidemic in this country. It’s why drug use is at an all time high.

And to top it off, the money you don’t make doesn’t take you that far. You legit gotta make 100k in most metropolitan areas just to live comfortably.

Younger people are realizing, that 9-5 shyt is bullshyt. I didn’t realize it until I was in my 30’s. And that’s not including layoffs.

Well bytch make sure you don’t get knocked up because if you can’t handle a job and a commute having a kid will make you want to kill yourself.

So maybe not having time to date is good for you.

She is just realizing what we all had to at that age which is that there is no glamorous sex and the city lifestyle waiting for us where we can walk to work and then hang out at trendy bars with our gal pals while we wait for some handsome millionaire to retire us early. It’s a grind.

Most work is literally just renting yourself out with commute time ontop. Most ppl/generations realize it sooner or later but I think this is the first gen where the reward doesnt seem worth it or impossible (retired with social security and savings). I said it another thread before but I think this is the first gen in awhile where when they collectively look to the future, it all looks bleak and chaotic. So when you dealing with that then you commuing hrs to a 9-5 ofc you gonna be like wtf is the point.

Welcome to adulthood babes. Commuting sucks but it is what it is

This is why people made life choices regarding working hybrid or remote

And this is the problem. You know the work model is flawed, but you accept it anyway can clown anyone who speaks out against it.

I wasted most of my 20’s working 9-5 gigs. And as my salary increased in my 30’s I was working even more hours. Now you could make 70 - 90k but you’re working so many hours that you can’t enjoy it.

Not true at all. 9-5 is literally 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. How many hours do you think a person should work in a non-flawed system? 3 per day? 15 per week?

You only “waste” time working if you don’t gain skills and increase your pay. That is on the worker to make working work for them not “society.”

She is complaining about being tired after a long day - duh. She is complaining about not being able to go out and make friends or date despite choosing to just come home, shower and eat because that is all SHE feels like doing.

She could have a full social life and get some at 11pm and go to bed at 1am and wake up and do if all over again. I did that for years and found a husband in the process.

You are making it seem like people have zero control over how they spend their time when not working. How do you know someone “can’t enjoy” $90k per year? Lol.

Was I quoted in error? Nothing in my post is making fun of her. I agree with her 100% but unless she finds a hybrid or remote option, it is what it is
