The way Shannon still taking shots, it makes sense

Yea, I said this a while back too.

Also Skip being the one that forced Fox to get rid of Shannon makes since. That explains why Fox let Sharpe go "cleanly" with a buyout and keeping Club Shay Shay*. Explains why Shannon been on some passive aggressive stuff by liking tweets saying Skip is a "piece of shyt", "colonel Sanders" and saying Fox choosing Skip over Jenny/Sharpe is like a music company picking Weird Al over James Brown/Lady Gaga.

* = It seems Club Shay Shay was a Fox Sports podcast/show.

I think Skip really did get Shannon up outta there.

It's a step down to transition from having top billing, having your name in the show's title, and your face on the billboard, to becoming a bit-part contributor on a competing show. By accepting a less prominent role on a former rival's show, Shannon is lowering his own value.

Even though ESPN and First Take is and always will be a more popular than FOX/Undisputed, Shannon is walking away from being the main guy. He's moving away from a role where he's putting up 25 shots to playing in garbage time, with scrubs that will chuck up their own shots and refuse to pass the ball.

If "IT'S MY TURN!!!" was a problem then good luck with Molly cutting people off, SAS flexing on contributors (Jay Williams, Jalen, etc.), contributors trying to out-clown each other by saying dumbest shyt so they can get headlines.

Shannon Sharpe is a Hall of Famer, top 5 TEs of all time, Super Bowl winner, versatile enough to talk multiple sports and social issues. He is well-known enough to mingle with celebrities and most importantly on a crazy upward trajectory. His podcast was doing huge numbers, with multiple full episodes getting millions of views, even without featuring A-list celebrities. Meanwhile, Stephen A Smith, the host of the show he will now be a contributor on, only managed to surpass a million views once, and that was when he was discussing Shannon Sharpe. That is SAS's most-viewed video on YouTube.

If he was gonna branch out and for example be a contributor on GMA and then occasionally appear on First Take, that would make sense. If he gets his own daytime show after Pat MacAfee Show airs during football season and contributes couple of days a week on First Take that would make sense.

However, for Shannon to willingly step away from being the main host, without any scandal or case of sexual harassment, and to place himself on the same level as the corpse of Chris 'Mad Dog' Russo, who has been irrelevant since 2008, is definitely a backwards move :hubie:

I think tbis goes to show you that liking and hacing geeat chemistry with your colleagues supercedes the quote on quote "bag" amd no matter what the money is, if you legit dont like someone it can change everything.

Shannon legit left at the end of the finals in the middle of the week. If that doesn't tell you how much he despised :skip: nothing will.

theres real animosity between him and skip, wherelse :sas: and skip are cit from the same cloth being journalist who debated sports.

Shannon still hasn’t signed a deal yet. I think he’s realizing the grass isn’t greener on the other side. ESPN isn’t giving him the brand power, freedom or flexibility (as of yet) that he’s looking for.

Good. fukk that sinking ship. Disney/ESPN going to bolivia. Shannon doesn't need network tv or a debate show. Go showtime and get a NFL podcast like KG

The ratings were not good on Undisputed. They were a permanent number 2. People are saying Shannon going to FT would be a step down.. Well he’s automatically going to have more eyes on him just being there so that’s a win. People keep talking about all this shyt he should do.. Well you know these personalities get support in the beginning but then people stop caring. I think Shannon will be ok no matter what though.

Being permanent number 2 doesn't mean that ratings are not good for Fox. If SAS, Shannon and Skip were all together on the same show on FS1 they would still be number 2 to whatever ESPN runs at the same time.

Fox is paying millions to Craig Carton who averaged 33,000 viewers a day in March ... 33k. There are people on Twitch averaging more viewers playing fukking video games and watching YouTube videos.

Flying to Connecticut to work two days a week ain't the worst thing in the world.
The show is in NYC but the way the budgets are today I highly doubt they’ll be flying him across country every week. They’d remote him in if anything. I think the issue he’s running into is that ESPN will treat him like every other contributor opposed to the star treatment he received at Fox.

Undisputed is a successful show for FS1. They knew they were never beating First Take on TV, but their online presence and viral moments killed FT on a daily basis.

It’s a reason Shannon felt he had the leverage to boss up and bounce. His online numbers were through the roof. Twice a week on ESPN is a big downgrade from 2.5 hours 5 times a week. FT is only 2 hours and if you’re a contributor you aren’t necessarily on the entire show.

I’m sure he’ll land on his feet but I think he still left Skip too soon.

Well I don’t know what all happened with Shannon and Fox but he’s not there anymore and will apparently go to espn. That’s a bigger deal for him. These networks always overpay people and have us wondering why, I’m not shocked. The fact that they easily let Shannon walk after all those years is crazy. it’ll be interrogated see how Richard Sherman fits in. I’m not sure if the SAS, Skip, and Shannon on FS1 thing you posted is necessarily true but it could be. It’s just interesting that all this happens all of a sudden after like 7 years. Now Shannon might just pop up on espn.
