Shannon Briggs To Tarver: You Are a Bum, A Step Back!

Former heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs (57-6-1, 50KOs) became enraged after hearing that Antonio Tarver (31-6, 22KOs) was interested in facing him. Tarver, who captured titles at light heavyweight and cruiserweight, is now fighting as a full blown heavyweight. Briggs does not view Tarver as a real heavyweight.
Both Briggs and Tarver have the same goal - landing a fight with WBO/IBO/WBA/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, who returns on April 25th, likely against Bryant Jennings, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
"He’s a bum, I’ll tell him to his face. Antonio, you’re a bum. You ain’t no heavyweight and you stepped up to heavyweight but you fought Jonathon Banks man. Come on man, you fought Mickey man and Mr. T killed Mickey. I’m calling you out. To be honest with you, that’s a step backwards for me because even though he fought on TV, nobody cares, nobody knows," Briggs told On The Ropes Boxing Radio .
Only people in boxing know, maybe a couple of fans. Call Al Haymon and tell him to call me right now, I’m ready to make the fight. He’s talking about fighting David Haye, come on man. That’s a step backwards, I’m fighting Wladimir Klitschko, I’m after the champ. Good luck to Antonio, don’t get me wrong, but if you want it, I’m with it. I know you don’t really want it champ, I know you’re gonna do your thing and fight David Haye because if I knock you off, I’m still gonna keep it moving."
