I refuse to have this conversation in TLR where I will only be berated.

(Some) men want to shame women so bad but it will never work because women are tired of the hypocrisy.

(Some) men have refused to take accountability for (Some) men's hypersexuality and use a dated argument claiming (Some) men can be promiscuous and it's OK. They made it OK to be hoes to begin with, which, depending on your view point, there is nothing wrong with being a ho or it's morally demeaning.

Point is, hypersexuality has already been normalized and never shamed when it came to (Some) men doing it, so you can't say there's a problem when women do it.

I'm pretty conservative but I'm gagging at the threads in TLR right now.

agree and disagree. both sides are full of bs

on women
i don't think women involved in the video or stanning the song are doing anything groundbreaking. meg/cardi are just trying to sell a record via sex. the women dancing in the video are just looking for exposure. the women singing it just want to brag and feel better than other women, even claiming women who don't like the song have "Dry Ass p*ssy." basically insulting them that their vagina isn't pleasing to men, so somehow they are less & just hating. the lyrics chant there are wh0res in the house, but let's see how any of the women in the video or singing it respond to being called a wh9re. bet they won't embrace the title.

on men
male music has definitely had hypersexual content - even a show Uncut to display all of this content. if the reason they're against wap is that it influences young women, well male music influences young women as well. young, impressionable girls listen to male rap songs, watch the videos and get ideas how to impress men or be viewed as attractive.

I don't believe in insulting other women for difference of opinion, I don't care for the song but I'm not going out of my way to voice out how much the song and the concept sucks.

Plus, only hit dogs holler. If you have constructive criticism then by all means, state your opinion, and if you're insulted for it then that means the other party is projecting. You can take their insult with a grain of salt.

As far as women embracing the words they claim to be, I can't really speak on that. The whole point of the slut walk movement is to redefine and reclaim those derogatory words, which make sense, but some choose to claim it and others don't.

But back to the overall point,
(Some) men started all this because they have been parading this lifestyle in our media for so long and expected women to not mimic them.

Basically, you can't say something is shameful all of a sudden if it was never shameful when (Some) men were doing it.
