Sergio Leone's...Once Upon A Time In America

what do we think of this movie these days ?
rarely gets brought up when talking movies...the length, people just don't think its that good ?

went back and bought this on blu-ray a few days ago.
hadn't watched this movie in years..owned the dvd but i never cared for it in the way i did the other great gangster movies.

the first half is great and pulls you in then it kind of loses you in the second.
for the amount of time put in, by the end you don't feel that satisfied.

everything, right up until the whole union thing is fantastic..from then in it's a real mixed bag.

when they were young is great and De Niro, Woods, Pesci, Burt Young all excellent.
always liked the scene with De Niro just sitting there stirring his coffee.

When he got slapped, looked at the other guys and said "what can I say, I got a way with women" I always remembered that part.

Long fukking film tho, only been able to sit through it once

This is a movie I have been trying to watch for years. It will occaisionally pop up on encore and I will want to watch it, but its like 11:30, and I gotta work the next day and this movie is like 4 hours long. and of course, they have no other times when they are replaying it nor is it on demand.

and of course its not on netflix, and I haven't been able to find a blu ray rip of this on the torrentz.

Needless to say, I need to see this as I haven't watched more than the opening 15 minutes.
