*Detectives said a Spring Hill woman sold $100 worth food stamps for $50 on Facebook.According to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, the investigation began Aug. 7 after they received a complaint about a woman selling food stamps on Facebook.* The complaint included screen shots of Facebook posts in which*Ashley McGinley, 23, advertised that she was selling $100 worth of food stamps for $50, the report said.On Aug. 20, a detective contacted McGinley at the Hernando County Detention Center, where she was in custody on unrelated charges.* Investigators said McGinley admitted that she had made the post, and that she sold her EBT card to a friend of hers named Kenneth.Investigators then contacted her friend, identified as Kenneth Dunham, who confirmed that McGinley had sold her EBT card to him, the report said. Dunham told investigators he had paid McGinley $100 to use approximately $200 worth of funds on her EBT card, and that he had used her card twice for purchases totalling $220.83.Detectives said transaction records from McGinley's EBT card confirmed Dunham's statements.On Sept. 9, detectives went back to the Hernando County Detention Center, where McGinley was still in custody on unrelated charges.
