"By turns astonishing and insufferable, there is as much here to make your eyes roll as widen. Even the moments when Hellblade II delivers nigh-unparalleled visual spectacle (see 'Giant steps') are soured by the fact that our involvement in these set-pieces so often feels incidental. For long stretches, it's akin to watching someone else play, only occasionally - and always unwillingly - handing back the controller. We can't help but return to that old chestnut about the interactive experience being a conversation between designer and player; there is an irony that in this, of all games, we're scarcely able to get a word in edgeways." [4]

Edge was not fukking with this game I see.

Depression Sim.
I legit walked away from this shyt full of gloom.
I literally had to put something happy on afterwards.
Hopefully a DLC is the equivalent of a Zoloft. :mjcry:

this shyt a slog bro for real. thats about my playtime as well.. i be warming up food in between segments. I see why no one finished it man I'm at the last little area after getting all the lorestones. Everytime that camera does the slow pull up to a new environment I roll my eyes. the first game got to the shyts much faster.

That cave section of the game :mjcry: With headphones in the dark
this was fire. Best thing about the first game, just locked in a tomb with her inner voices going rampant. shyt was the real tomb raider. Should've just made the whole game her in tombs. imo.

Game was good…i think?

Hard to rate this one.

Was a slog, i wouldn’t say it was “fun”

But i was extremely impressed the whole way through and compelled to see the ending.

Never seen a game execute on a vision as unapologetically as this one. They wanted to set a tone and tell a story and everything about the game was laser focused to that end. Sometimes i didn’t even know if i was playing or watching but i couldn’t look away.

The cave section was legit anxiety inducing, i was talking to my damn self like her and had to check my own feelings a couple times throughout.

The short run time was perfect as i had pretty much had enough when the credits rolled.

I’m gonna say this is a miraculous artistic achievement, but not a very good “game”

I’d be down for a 3rd one. Very unique experience, no one else really making games like this. I think NT should keep at it :ehh:

Its just funny some of them shyt on the first one relentlessly
:yeshrug:
And I can see why. However, that don't discount it from being a good game. Short comings and foibles aside, it's got a very damned good story, even if it's a story alot of people don't want delivered to them under the guise of an 'action' game that requires to put the controller down and listen more than you swing at times.
And personally, I found it more interesting than God of War since I'm still at odds as to why Kratos is over in Norse Mythology. I don't give a fukk what kind of canon changing magic or how 'good' the gameplay (Of the first atleast) was. I ain't never seen anything as confusingly egregious until this Mortal Kombat 1 shyt came about.
