I thought it may have been a seed planted for a Dolph face turn. Though it was weird how they did the segment if thats the case. But i think eventually E will get tired of playing the background and attack Dolph sometime this summer.

Big E is a huge babyface on NXT and it seems like the fans are the ones who turned him. The five gimmick won't work long term but its an easy chant for the kiddies.
