There's long been talk of O'Haire being one of the most notable "what could have beens". But what hasn't been been talked about is the little-known rumour that Chris Jericho rarely returns home off the strength of this one vignette. Powerful promos :ohlawd:

a lot of people from that era seem like they got wasted to a degree. he was also a big man doing moves that wernet normal so Vince, etc probably saw that as a flaw more than a strength. he was definitley ahead of his time.

His gimmick really fit the time period
And he had the look of a star shame

In WCW he was the most generic dude in tights with Chuck Palumbo ever. Neither had any charisma. Bad on the mic. Ohaire at least could rely on a flashy offense. He had no look, and no gimmick.

That continued into WWF (until they laced him with the Commit Sin character), and I'll sum it up by saying this. He had Brian Cage syndrome. And in one of his debut matches he does a backflip over Bradshaw from the turnbuckle, then Bradshaw smokes him. It just looks ridiculous coming from a 6'5 guy. He had the moveset to be a more power guy, and he used some power moves, but doing backflips, and swantons is just too much high flying and makes it look so fake.

He was ahead of the time, and in today's era would be huge. Should be considered a pioneer for high flying big men.. But back then it was ridiculous. If he was good on the mic he could have survived... He just couldn't get over with people.
