SEAL says Navy abandoned him after he shot bin Laden - Video on TODAY.com

A year and a half after SEAL Team Six launched their raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound, the now-retired SEAL who says he’s the one who pulled the trigger is claiming the military has since left him and his family to fend for themselves. Journalist Phil Bronstein talks about the story he wrote for Esquire magazine.

No one knew who you were and then you draw all this attention to yourself?

Might as well have thrown all these guys in the ocean with Bin Laden.

why did dude leave the navy before he qualified for pension? and then claim they "abandoned" him?

He thought hed be treated like a hero for murdering another human being but instead, he was treated like any soldier who abandons their station early. Regular.

That muhfukka would be cakin in the private security field

thats what im saying. even if he couldnt or wouldnt stack bread off green collar work, could he not get some work consulting for PMCs or arms companies? im willing to bet tons of guys like him are doing just fine with that and they probably dont have half his supposed credentials.

Maybe he thought he was going to get that 25 mil. Does the story give detail as to why he left early? because it actually sounds like he abandoned the Navy, not the other way around.

IMO him pulling the trigger is irrelevant. he didn't rambo his way over there and do it by himself. he was part of a team that got support from many people. IMO all of those people are equally part of the operation

I think treating him special is insulting to all the other military peeps that had to kill people as part of their service
