On whether or not you receive a new title belt each time you win a championship in WWE: "No, actually that's the real one. Yeah they do, yeah (give you a commemorative one to keep once you lose it). So the name plates, they change the nameplates. Obviously I took that one from Randy Orton, they took his nameplates off and slapped on the Jinder Mahal ones."

On whether or not he sleeps with the belt around his waist: "Not with it on, but the night I won it it did. It did stay in bed with me. Words cant describe that feeling. It was 15 years of hard work, ups and downs, from being released to coming back, to being signed at a young age originally and kind of squandering my opportunity originally. Redemption is sweet man, redemption is sweet."

On his heritage: "So I'm from Calgary, Alberta, Canada and my family is Punjabi. I'm very proud to represent the great nation of India. There's a huge Indian population here in Toronto. Also, Calgary, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Edmonton - Canada really is a great multi cultural country. I'm really proud to represent both cultures, Canadian and Indian, and hopefully I'm making both countries proud as WWE champion."

On making his way back to WWE after being released from the company back in 2014: "I came back motivated, it was my second time coming back I was fortunate enough - WWE gave me an opportunity to return about a little over a year ago and I was going to take full advantage of that. I'm the hardest working WWE Superstar, I'm constantly working on my physique, my promos, my in ring abilities. I knocked off one of the all time greats, Randy Orton, a 13 time World Champion. But John Cena and Ric Flair have the record right now at 16 times, it's my goal to beat them. I want to be the most winningest WWE champion of all time."

On if he knew in advance that he would be winning the WWE Championship or if it was a last-minute decision: "This one was king of sprung on my last minute. A lot of times it's planned. I knew I was going to be a champion in WWE but not this soon. I thought I was working towards Intercontinental Champion or U.S. Champion and then work my way up, but they I was given the opportunity and I was ready. They gave me the opportunity and I had time, I was like "Oh I need a month or two to get ready." So I was ready, I was ready to rock, I was ready to be the WWE Champion, I was ready to be the face of the WWE. It is a lot of pressure but I enjoy everything. I enjoy the media, doing what I'm doing right now, I enjoy the appearances, I enjoy main eventing the show, there's pressure in that - and I perform better under pressure, that pressure is what motivates me."

On whether or not he has an issue with Sheamus after their backstage incident: "We laugh about it to this day, I was happy seeing him and Cesaro win their first tag team titles and we're always happy to see each other"

On the way fans react to him on social media: "Yeah it's very cool because either you love me or hate me. It's nice to have some fresh faces in the title picture scene cause a lot of times it is the same guys, the franchise guys like Cena and Orton, and now like AJ Styles, he's a big time player. So it's great that my name is in the mix too cause just to be in the same level as guys like AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, and Shinsuke Nakamura who's my opponent at SummerSlam August 20th, it's truly an honor. It's not something I take lightly so that motivates me every day so I'm going to continue to work hard and make Canada proud, make India proud, make everybody proud, make myself proud, my family proud. It's awesome, I look forward to what the future brings, I still haven't even hit my prime. I have a long long career ahead of me."
so somewhere Jack Swagger has at least 3-4 times on his wall? :damn: I didn't even know he was from Canada :obama:
Global Force Wrestling (GFW) ring announcer David Penzer recently appeared as a guest on the Wrestling Inc Podcast for an in-depth interview. During the discussion, Penzer spoke about getting injured by Kurt Angle on an episode of Impact Wrestling back in 2008.

"I can't give away too much because I've been building it up on my own podcast," said Penzer of the story. "Me and Jeff Jarrett are going to talk about it in detail the next time we're at the Global tapings."

"I mean, it was written out, it was planned," Penzer explained. "I had a company back in the day, I still have it now, it's 'Seasonal Now.' I was at a trade show in Orlando actually that day and I got to the T.V. like an hour before. I normally would have been there all day for the production meeting and all that and found out, so we didn't really have time to go through it. So it probably was one of the reasons."

Penzer continued, "But look, Kurt lays stuff in. Most of the athletes he competes against, they just take it because they're athletes. I'm a 5'6'' non-athletic S.O.B. who was pushing 40-something at the time and so I looked like the elephant man on both sides of my face for about a week and a half. Whatever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger, right? And I got a bonus for it!"

The former WCW ring announcer was then asked if he and Angle are still on speaking terms today, and whether or not the WWE Hall Of Famer and current WWE RAW General Manager ever apologized for it.

"Yeah, we still joke about it when I see him," said Penzer. "I do stuff with the Legends of Wrestling. We did a big show in Shea Stadium and we do different kind of events all over the country for sports franchises and radio stations and stuff like that.

"Before Kurt went back to WWE, we would use Kurt for appearances and stuff and we'd always joke about it and stuff like that," said Penzer. "He's a super nice guy and he certainly didn't mean to do it, he didn't do it on purpose. It was just one of those things where he lays stuff in and he laid it in a little bit and caught the wrong spot and my face exploded."
I got no comment cause I got no idea who this guy is :yeshrug:
Originally, the Hardys were scheduled in tag team matches all weekend but WWE was unable to get the paperwork sorted out in time to ensure that Jeff Hardy would be allowed to cross the border and into Canada due to his felony conviction from many years ago. As a result, the Hardys had to be pulled from all the live events in Canada.
:mjlol:
GFW wrestler and Bellator MMA fighter Bobby Lashley recently spoke with Jay Reddikk of The Orlando Sentinel for an interview. Below are some of the highlights.

On working with Donald Trump in WWE back at WrestleMania 23: "I think a lot of people want me to say he was arrogant and pushed his weight around, but I can't. The first time we met, he just came over, introduced himself, shook my hand and said 'It looks like we'll be working together.' Then we just joked around and he introduced me to his family and his kids.

"We only worked together a handful of times, but he was cool. He never tried to take over. He was all about 'How can we make this great? How can I help make this better?' He joked with me that when this was over, I'd be recognized by all the girls in Times Square – and he did what he said."

On his match with Matt Sydal at GFW's Destination X: "I've never faced anybody quite like him. He's smaller and more agile – and then you look at me. The good thing is, I know my style and how to run with it. I feel as confident as I have in a very long time."

On the recent changes in GFW: "We're at that place where every company is when there's a change in regime. There's always a little bump and a backstep, then you move forward. I don't want to say things are bad because I'm not a pessimist. We needed the change. There are a lot of insecurities, but at this point, I trust the decisions that are being made."

So you're saying it's absurd to think a Indian looking guy that speaks Indian and has an Indian name is from India?
:patrice:

So you never heard him speak perfect English without an accent and still thought he wasn't from anywhere else?
