Schools here are out because of NASCAR races

Idk if it's like that in all of Alabama but here in Calhoun County schools are out for these damn races. Tf? Does this happen anywhere else or in any other states?

We got the Talladega race track and that's it. How the hell is this sporting event so important that they cancel schools for it? I would understand if it was the iron bowl Bama vs Auburn but a race? That's why Bama dead last with Mississippi when it comes to education. A disgrace
