As her movie career continues its momentum,
Scarlett Johansson is making her way to the small screen to star in and executive produce a new mini-series, Custom of the Country.
The actress will play the role of Undine Spragg, a Midwestern girl who moves to New York City, and attempts to climb the social ladder of her new world, a source told
The Wrap. The story is adapted for Sony TV from Edith Wharton's 1913 novel of the same name, and will unfold across eight episodes. Plans include selling the show to a cable network, sources said.
Johansson's role in Custom of the Country is akin to Matthew McConaughey or Woody Harrelson's in True Detective, in which the movie stars signed on for one season with its own self-contained story.
You can see the actress next in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
