Well the original was a howard hughes flick from the 30s and took place in chicago and was a veiled attempt at making a movie about Capone since scarface was his nickname. Then there's the 80s one by DePalma which took the name and made it about a Cuban immigrant in Florida. This one will more than likely take the same approach: Use the title but make it about a different character in a different part of the country and tell his rise to power

Lots of people don't realize this. I think if they remind everyone of it, more people will warm up to the idea of another Scarface. New time, location, and ethnic group will be tackled in this one. You can hardly even call it a remake.

Just do a film on the godmother griselda blanco, rivi etc..80's setting, great soundtrack with altern 80's music in the mix, plenty of coke, voilence and no trashy weak editing..

u just reminded me..werent they supposedly doing a cocaine cowboys flick? i had read about wahlberg and dicaprio. i guess it was just rumors but i remember reading something that made it seem like it was happening.
