Well I thought the Sopranos ending sucked but I would say it is on par with Six Feet Under.

Season 1 and 3 are the two weakest seasons. Stick with it. Season 4 is great. Season 5 is one of the best seasons of tv ever. Season 6 is good but probably should've been shorter. Season 7 is very good but the writing gets a bit convoluted. It ends amazing though.

Seasons 1-4 are a bit different than the rest. Season 5-7 is where the story starts to build toward the endgame.
