Damn thats wild you can get whole series for under 50 now..I copped all these DVD's as they dropped(first series I ever collected on DVD) and them bytches was 20-30 at the time...
Might be the GOAT show though...Everybody always brings up Martin, Fresh Prince etc, but the first 3 and a half seasons of S&S> ...It was kinda over though once Fred left and came back and they had Grady holdin down the crib...Them episodes was classic as fukk too but once Fred came back it was like everybody was just mailing it in at that point and Lamont used to be so fukkin loaded during his scenes all his energy from the earlier seasons was zapped...Not to mention dude became a fukkin fakkit at some point during the series...Dude was a pure hatin ass nikka..Fred couldnt get a piece of ass without that handlebar-mustache' nikka scratchin his nappy ass head explaining why he dont think its a good idea..Remember how this p*ssy nikka reacted when Grady got that extra check from Social Security? Instead of hitt'n the town wit his OG, the nikka was on some "aw man this isnt good
" tip... fukk Lamont Grady Sanford...
I felt this whole post breh. And yeah, I rmember getting the first season when it first dropped for like $20...then all the others one by one after that....now it's cheap as hell. It's really a steal at $35. Although after you get past the 4th season it's not very good.
You know what, I never really noticed what u said about Lamont being loaded....but now that I think about it, his character did change alot. He started wearing those sunglasses and stuff and his demeanor was just different.
Kinda like Martin was towards the end of Martin when you could tell the drugs were taking over.
Yeah, Grady did a decent job when you consider the magnitude of the character he was replacing at the time.....I still skip most those episodes though.
THE Goat.I know all them shyts by heart.I feel bad for kids who grow up not experiencing sanford and son.I use to sit on the floor watching it with my Grandfather as a kid
.When it finally came out on DVD,i jumped on that shyt.Never gets old.Redd is one of the few comedians that would be just as funny if not more today then back then.WAAAAY ahead of his time.Go back and listen to some of his records from 50s and 60s,shyt will still have you dying. What a talent.
Yeah man, and the good thing about this show is that alot of the jokes still hold up. I rememebr as a kid, every night consisted of re-runs of 227, Good Times, Sanford & Son....but S&S always was the funniest of that group.
Another thing that makes you know this is a great show is that ALOT, damn near all, of the early episodes all took place in just their living room or kitchen. You gotta have some good stuff to be able to pull that off and not have it get stale.
One line that always makes me laugh
is I when Lamont got married early in the show, and some lil kid was over at their house for the reception and the kid was sitting with his feet on the couch....Fred walked up to him and said, "Hey kid.....get ya feet off my good couch..........this couch is for drankin!"
