Great read. It made me respect Sam even more.

Been in over a 100 movies that grossed over 2 billion dollars

Get $300, 000 in residues every year.

Every movie location, specifically checks for the black community to eat at their establishments and hangout with the people:boss:

Before Hollywood called was in a support group that included Denzel, Fishburne, Freeman, and Snipes

It's too bad guys like him, Denzel, Will, Martin etc dont seem to have the pull to help out the next gen of black actors in Hollywood.

I know there's talent out there

lac that's funny you say that. i was thinking the same thing the other day while watching sidney poitier's afi salute. it just seemed like the guys in the previous generation were much more supportive of each other.

I wonder this too. Maybe, they're just not that talented.

I'm not the type to care if its an all-white cast or not. To me, that mentality makes people miss out on alot. One thing, I don't get is where are the black directors like Spike, The Hughes Brothers, and John Singleton.

Tales From The Hood is a classic movie to me that noone ever mentions. I loved that movie. Finally there was a horror story told in a black perspective that was intelligent and not dumb-down.

Love Jones is another classic black movie that noone ever mentions. When is the last time you saw a smart black film that incorporates jazz/neo-soul and black urbanites trying to make it in their professional field.

With all that said, the reason I love Sam as an actor is because he never limited himself. Just look at his filmography.

Well honestly cause the black actors today suck.... Every time I see one of those low budget black movies on netflix it just reconfirms it for me.
