I bought The Third during the Steam winter sale.
I usually like to speak about Saints Row, especially 2 and 3 as GTA but actually fun.
Same type of game, but Saints Row gives zero fukks about weird ass content, and makes it really fun.
You still end up pissed and running around the city like in GTA, but there are some ridiculous things in the Row where GTA started going more main stream.
One sucks. Simple as that, especially now. The graphics look like GTA III almost. San Andrreas at best and is a blatant ripoff. Tow just threw everything against the wall, and while not perfect is very fun. 3 is a good game, and fun to boot.

Yawn fest, got hella bored with this gimmick gta ripoff. The story was uninspiring too. Overall bad experience.
Number 3 is definitely worth checking, this game is pure fun all the time! Yes, the graphics aren't really good but trust me, some of the missions, weirdos that you meet and things that you're able to do in this game compensate for it! And you can coop the whole campaign 
Really liked Part 2. The third one I got bored of kinda fast.
I got the third one during a steam sale. I got about 3 hours into it, but the game got choppy as shyt after I updated my video driver. That's the only game that gave me problems, so I never cared enough to figure out the issue.

Its cool, it has some really fun side missions like mayham, and insurance fraud, and some really dumb ones like snatch and them fake ass Tron races.. its overall more about comedy and destruction than GTA, but it clearly wouldnt exist if it wasnt for GTA being so good and you realize that half way through.
Only played two and had no desire to play anything else. Awful series

saints row 2 was good lots of customization capabilities that gta just didnt have

Greatly disappointed by this. SR2 was a classic evolution from the first, and I had high hopes for SR3 to do the same. The WTF story to the lack of features that were prominent and made the first two stand out from the GTA series were gone. They sacrificed natural fukkery for contrived and planned fukkery, to the point of it being predictable.
They got that new stand-alone sequel Enter The Domininatrix coming out, but if they ain't bringing back some of the little-but-important shyt that made SR2 godly, then I ain't want it
