Solid card. My predicitions
FP prelims
Gordon UD
Brandao TKO RD 1
Means UD
Sterling UD. Could go either way
Anderson TKO RD2
OSP TKO RD 1
Dariush Sub RD 2. Dariush is a beast. I think Miller, like Lauzon, is too reckless in searching for the highlight KO/Sub. I think Daruish wears him down and put him away in RD 2
PVZ UD. I think Paige is younger, quicker, and more athletic. Herrig is just not good. She can grind and bully against the slower fighters. I don't see her doing that to Paige. I want to beat Paige from the back. Unrelated but I just wanted to throw that in there
Holloway UD. This is a real toss up tho. Swanson may possibly be washed. He got smoked against Frankie and he honestly didn't look too impressive against guys like Stephens and Poirer. I don't know what fighter he is. He goes rounds without doing shyt, then he will unleash looping hooks and capoirea kicks. Just bizarre. Holloway is younger and hungry. Hes striking is good and he throws a lot of volume. My only question is his grappling defense. Hes pretty tough to get down but once hes on his back he doesn't do much. He let Connor work him in their fight and Cub is a much better wrestler/grappler. So thats a key. I will go with Holloway slightly
Jacare any way he wants. Biggest question in this fight is if Jacare will choke him out fast or spend a round working his boxing.
Rockhold UD. Another close fight. I posted early that Machida struggles against long fighters. Weidman basically neutralized him with a kick heavy gameplan. Rockhold has great body/front kicks. He could use those to slow Machida down and stop his entries. Rockhold is a patient, smart fighter. Hes not going to make a lot of mistakes. He doesn't have to worry about heavy pressure the way ViTRTor did. His only weakness is his boxing. Hes got nice counters but has no real jab. Machida has him beat there. IDK. Its always tough to beat against Machida because hes so difficult and makes everyone look bad.
