Crazy. Not sure what the motive was behind this. Im thinking he wanted to feel more in control of his training and situation. With Eddie, he’s still a kid in camp. With Joe, he’s the star of the show. Can train at his own gym as well as he stated. Eddie has a lot going on right now and currently working with Oscar Valdez for the Shakur fight. The language barrier between him and Eddie didn’t help I’m sure. Also, Eddie and Canelo’s beef with his promoter Oscar etc. lots of factors. There’s rumors that Teofimo joining the camp was part of the decision. Also, Eddie is expensive, 30% of purse. There’s the distance too. Ryan lives in LA, Eddie’s gym is in San Diego. Some say Eddie kicked him out for not living the “No Boxing No life” lifestyle lol.

Whatever happened, I don’t think this was a good move. Not saying he needs Eddie to be successful, but I think it was better than being with goosen by far. Can’t wait to hear what went wrong.

And with that, I'm even more sure that L is on its way, no disrespect to Goosen.
Nery split from Reynoso because he wasn't dedicated enough, I guess the same reason with Ryan, also it might have bugged his ego that there's a bigger star than him in the gym. Seems like the Reynoso camp doesn't tolerate long when someone doesn't want to work.

Yeah, this is really it if we are honest.

If Ryan said fukk it and moved to San Diego and lived and breathed in that gym then his career is another story. But the sometimes pro boxer lifestyle doesn't work. That's the amateur lifestyle. This sport isn't forgiving at the pro ranks. You have to be manically obsessed with it 11 of the 12 months of the year. That's why Alvarez is where he's at.

I don't think it's a terrible move perhaps as much as other people think, but if something is not working then it's always good to refresh things.

The language thing is hella overblown… I trained in a gym that spoke to me like 80% Spanish 20% Spanglish… My Spanish is Danny Garcia level :russ:

I easily understood what I needed to N I didn’t have my daddy there translating for me like Ryan

We got Euros like Deverychenko training with Rozier perfectly fine

Roach training all types of foreign nikkas

it’s boxing you understand

I respect it. With everything considered, I think every fighter should be honest with themselves if they aren't on the same page with their trainer. The standards that Eddy established with Canelo, probably doesn't work for him. It's easy to judge but I can believe that the pressure that camp puts on fighters might not be for everyone.

That fact that a big part of his decision is that he has his own gym, let's me know he wants complete control of his career. Eddy isn't just a trainer but a trainer/manager, and Ryan wants to stand in his own two. Hope it works out for him.

Touches on it briefly at 4:10. Seems like it has to do with Eddie’s busy schedule and not being able to give him enough time. Again, I’m sure most of Eddie’s time is going to be taken up with training Valdez for Shakur and finalizing a deal for Canelo. If he just wants a trainer focused on him then I respect it.

That was a given tho. He knew that before he joined the situation…:heh:
