This isn’t about so and so.
Pelosi specifically has been turned into a derogatory term for liberal ideas by Republicans.
Republicans want to move pass Trump so having another boogeyman like the Clintons would allow to to move the conversation pass Trump if Pence is dirty.
Pelosi would not run for re-election if she moves into the White House. The republicans can create a bogeyman with whoever is there.
With any reasonable leaders turnout is usually high, it just shows how much trump depresses everything outside the base.
If Pelosi is the most effective leader, let her do her thing. The question to ask should be, will she do enough to keep the democratic base and undecideds interested?
But she wouldn't get to replace federal judges and stuff that's the actually key for a Pelosi presidency. Even with the majority on the Supreme Court, bytch McConnell would still make Ginsburg stay on so he'd have a super majority to replace her.
The Republicans got their tax cuts, they don't care if the regulations go back to Obama era.
Having a Pence be their in 2019 would be a constant reminder of Trump's crimes.
You give Republican voters too much credit. They've shown with the Trump presidency how much they are willing to overlook. Doug Jones didn't win in a landslide against a pedo. Dems lost Senate seats in Republican heavy states. NRA and all the shootings.
With Pelosi as a figurehead, it at least gives Republicans a face to rile up its base that isn't Obama. Plus, she's a woman from California. That's the go to for Republicans voters to get out and vote.
Remember when Pence was the first one to lawyer up back in early 2017 after Flynn got pinched by MuellerREMEMBER WHEN WHEN WE FOUND OUT MANAFORT MET MULTIPLE TIMES WITH ASSANGE?
