In scary Republican news: Senate Judiciary Leader Grassely

http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-acti...enator-cloud-of-doubt-hanging-over-fbi-probes
___
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) says that perceptions of potential political interference in FBI investigations are casting a "significant cloud of doubt" over the bureau.

Grassley, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, sent a letter to Rod Rosenstein, the recently confirmed deputy attorney general, raising concerns that FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe's involvement in key investigations creates an "appearance of political bias."

"Public reports of his meeting with a longtime Clinton and Democrat party fundraiser, Governor Terry McAuliffe, and his wife’s subsequent campaign for public office being substantially funded by McAuliffe’s organization raise serious questions about his ability to appear impartial," Grassley in the letter sent to Rosenstein on Tuesday.

The GOP senator added that Rosenstein must "begin to closely supervise and oversee the FBI’s handling of politically charged, high-profile and controversial investigations."

What's funny about this, is that Comey's whole career is him going out of his way to try and prove he is completely independent, and any actions he takes are nuetral. The whole Clinton email thing right before the election was something that he felt he had to do because if there was nothing said or done, it would have looked more "political" and appear he was trying to bury new information on the case (wiener laptop). Grassely will end up having to recuse himself as well, wait for it. These republicans are doing these outlandish political "look at me" things, do that they will have to recuse themselves, so if and when something nefarious does get exposed, they have clean hands within the party. It's pretty obvious.
