These are the types of statements that the press pool - as a whole - needs to forcibly demand clarification on. What and who is the president fighting back against? If the president is being "picked on" why won't he sit down with the special counsel? Why is he interested in the Manafort case if it has nothing to do with him? How does the president explain no contact/communication with the Russians versus what we know about his former and current staff's communication today?

They can't shun the whole pool, at most they can stop briefings but the reality is - nothing of substance is coming from the briefings anyway so if they stopped what would we be losing?
