I experienced this first hand.

To the Christian right, conservative American culture is fundamentally Christian in origin.

They believe that the US government was founded on Christian principles. (Yeah...no.)

Basically, they accept a warped version of history where the Bible was the basis for the Constitution, slaves were freed primarily because of Christian moral principle (while curiously believing that the South was fighting the CW over states' rights), the Klan was a socialist, anti-religious organization (), and liberalism/secularism is an aberration that wasn't present during the founding of the country.

We know they did it in 2016 but I haven't seen any real reason to think 2018 won't just be a repeat. Certainly Trump and the GOP have a vested interest in letting them and I've seen little from the states to indicate they're doing much. Not sure Mueller can do much either in any direct way.

There’s nothing to stop them. Frankly, it’s in the best interest of Russia to try and influence the US elections. I’d be very surprised if they don’t try to influence the elections in November

Depends on when Mueller finishes and whether Dems take Congress, honestly. If the Dems sweep the House, they'll draft articles of impeachment swiftly once Mueller concludes his investigation, regardless of the results.

If the Dems take the Senate majority--which they won't, but I'd love to be wrong--Trump's getting impeached early next year for sure.
