Giuliani cancelled 2 events for yesterday evening, the same night the news leaked. Giuliani keeps saying Cohen is not a credible witness and has character issues. Team Trump game has turned into casting doubts into Cohen as a flawed witness, bitter and jealous he did not get a gig in the white house. Team Cohen would never leak this because thats a big bargaining chip he could be using to get immunity, money, and witness protection. Giuliani already pre-booked Cuomo for air time and defense. Notice he didn't go to MSNBC and be grilled by Rachel who would ask those hard questions.
Instead he was already dozing off in the CNN waiting couch before his tv appearance. That shows he was not worried about such a big breaking news.
I'd say Team Trump is leaking those tapes news to make Cohen lose any deal he could have until he realizes only a pardon would save him and he has to beg for it.
Let me also add this is a very dumb tactic. Cohen got the tapes and Manafort was being tapped by the NSA, FBI and CIA as well. He was there throughout the meeting, possibly hot mic'd.
Giuliani is now Trump's lawyer and he may come out scratch free in this war because if you go after him for leaking and knowing sensitive info, the optics won't be good.
