Man Trump should've at least brushed up on some world history if he's gonna use that history to justify his treason
this man has access to so much information brehs
Even if nobody watching Fox News would bother to fact check him it's still scary that he can be so wrong and so un-nuanced about arguably the most complex relationship of the 20th and 21st century. It's scarier that his cult will watch that interview as if he knows what he's talking about and that he's doing the right thing.
Soviet Union did NOT lose 50,000,000 people during WWII, don't know if that's just him being dumb or him trying to paint Russia in a sympathetic light but he's off by quite a bit. Like off by anywhere from 10,000,000 to 30,000,000 and it still wasn't the most egregiously wrong thing he said (saying that US funds 90% of NATO was much worse).
*Fails to mention that Russia has lost as many or more of their own people at the hands of their own rulers between 1910-1953 as they have as a result of the wars they were involved in between those years*
*Fails to mention Cold War conflict, Berlin Wall disagreement, conflicts over Russia's role in the Middle East*
*Doesn't even touch Magnitsky Act, Crimea conflict, ideological disagreements between various past presidents and Russian leaders*
*Doesn't know shyt about WWI* Like literally all he says about WWI is "Well there was Germany"
*Still doesn't really say Russia hacked us*
Russia has rarely if ever been a country to admire politically and we've always kept them at arm's length. Even when we've technically been on the same side, they've been tentative allies/rivals rather than true allies. A number of US presidents (FDR, Nixon, Clinton for example) have had personally good relationships with Russian leaders but they have ALWAYS been aware of Russia's intent to gain power in Europe and poke and prod the United States as well as stayed aware of that Russian leader's actions within Russia's political and economic framework. There are reasons we haven't ever really fukked with Russia.
We all know he did that shyt, guilty as fukk, so I'm not really trying to prove anything new or groundbreaking. But this helps solidify it. Not only does he not know the history between America and Russia, but he uses this ignorance of precedent between the two countries to help justify being a traitor. And his base, who has historically hated Russia for the past 50-60 years, is pretty much fine with that.
