No, you're worst than not being a pacificist. If you were just someone who believed in military defense in response to a legit threat we would be on the same page.

You're an imperialist. To make things worse, I assume you're also against white supremacy but these actions are fueled by white supremacy which leads to the paternalistic attitude western nations take towards third world and non-white countries and disregarding their humanity and autonomy. This is also used to either convince the population that the violence is just or to disregard it as being of consequence by dehumanizing usually nonwhite populations. It also usually increases hostility back home against the population that resembles the ones we are bombing.

Given your logic and thinking, if the US was a major colonial power during the scramble for Africa, you'd support it out of some misguided belief that just by being American you will indirectly benefit.
God fukking damn :picard:

@Behelit i reserve my morality for domestic politics. International relations is strictly business. The USA can’t afford to not be on speaking terms with the Saudis, for example.

Internationally, the rules change. It’s literally everyone for themselves. Clearly you haven’t learned that in the last year.

The Arab countries don’t even fukk with Palestine.

I think you have a rosier view of the world because you don’t travel or you don’t have family outside the states or merely you don’t understand how international relations works. Living in the USA also skews your relationship with the reality of how it might feel to have a threatening neighbor who could invade and seeks to undermine you at every step.

you sound like a crazy person
I'm a realist man. :manny:

We want and hope the country is one way but it's not. There is no way in hell he should have even been considered a serious candidate by any major party in any civilized country, let alone this country.
:manny:
When you travel 20 minutes outside any major city it's Trump land through and through. They don't care about Stormy, they hate Mueller, they hate blacks, they hate liberals, they absolve law enforcement of any wrong doing when we are killed, but in the next breath bash the FBI (law enforcement) of conducting a "witch hunt against 45" They smile in your face at work and pull the red lever at the polls. This dude flipped Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. He won Florida while bashing republican Rubio all campaign long during the primaries. He won Arizona while bashing a republican "war hero" in McCain. He won Texas while bashing the republican Bush family and bytching Ted Cruz. Dems still don't seem to have a message or a leader (Biden could be that). Obama has all but faded off even though he said he would fight when he thought the fabric of our country was in peril (paraphrasing).

I hope I'm wrong but the whole:
":mjlol: he ain't really trying to win"
":russ: this dude is really a democrat"
":jbhmm: he won't be elected"
":patrice: ok, he won but he'll be outta there in 6 months, no worries"
":dwillhuh:he won't last til 2018, Mueller gonna get him"
":lupe: he won't run for reelection"
":damn: he won't be reelected".

OK, keep thinking that. :manny:

This thread is a marvel - no doubt about it - but have you talked to anybody outside the internet about any of this stuff? It's frustrating as hell, they have no clue. :mindblown: All throughout history we have had to scratch, claw, riot, fight just to get here against a wall of oppression, murder, enslavement, rape, systematic racism etc. Why do people think something as easy as their descendants, who fear losing the country, voting for a bigot is some impossible feat, especially when they just did it in '16.

I was skeptical yesterday when I saw the Target news... but now this guy is questioning Russian oligarchs? This thing is totally unpredictable. There is not a single person who forecasted that move :mindblown:
:rudy: This is a criminal investigation not a tropical depression.

Mueller got this shyt under control.

Saddam also used chemical weapons after the first gulf war and we left him in power and despite that in hindsight most people would agree despite him being a brutal dictator, which we put in power initially by the way, he was better than the alternative. HW realized this after the first gulf war and why he didn't take him out. He was left there as he gassed the kurds and did the usual despot shyt.

Also like i said in my edit. At least Nap is honest about what drives these actions. He is right that these actions are not altruistic. Before Obama left office we supportee the Saudis bombing the shyt out of Yemen and leading to the current humanitarian crisis and it continues under trump. So like i said, until you consistent you have no leg to stand on as far as trying to shame me in thinking the US should continues its interventionist policies.

If you think we should invade Syria then based on the same logic you would have been an Iraq War backer. It was done under the same pretenses.

You're glossing over a lot and purposefully I'm sure... maybe this is the abridged Chomsky version?

There were UN backed no-fly zone, sanctions, weapons inspections, and Iraq's military was largely destroyed.

Why are you even discussing Iraq? Strawman? Lets stay on topic we were talking about you supporting Assad.

Leaving Syria now means another power struggle and abandoning our allies who are helping to defeat ISIS. ISIS still hasn't been destroyed either last I checked.

Also letting Assad get away with what he's done is letting everyone else know that you won't be held responsible for your actions.

I'll tell you what I told Nap. We can discuss in another thread. Don't want to derail .If you want to make a thread arguing for military action in Syria i'll talk to you in there.

I will answer your one question. I mention Iraq because the same dynamics that led to that are happening again and it seems like folks such as yourself fail to learn the lesson that has been shown over and over and over and over and over...etc. Using selective humanitarian outrage as cover to engage in war for alternative reasons.
