Trump has gotten away for decades by dealing with a legal system that can be exploited. If you have enough lawyers you can jam state courts for years, settle cases, receive minor fines instead of charges, etc.
But now Trump is dealing with the federal government, and they don't fukking miss. Their conviction rate is nearly 100%. He's so entitled that he doesn't seem to understand or care about this fact. Maybe he thinks being president means he can avoid all this. Nope.
This is why I think Kushner being targeted will end this process (until the next stage starts). He's not viewing this as a legal case, he's viewing it as a personal vendetta. Target his family? Must be personal, so he'll respond in kind. At his heart he's a bully so that's the only way he views things. And ultimately it'll be the end of him.

Trump has shown how near-sighted some policies are if you have POS traitorous President like him.
Not much in the way of checks and balances when it hinges on a party like Republicans doing the right thing.
Pardoning doesn’t absolve you of all crimes. It also waives your right to plead the fifth in a court of law. The latter is a big problem for Trump.
This is also a reason that he hasn’t prosecuted anyone to the full extent yet as Trump can only pardon for crimes we know about.
