I don't think anything will come from this sessions story.
Unfortunately the line of questioning leaves too much plausiable deniability. He was asked if he had any contacts as a surrogate for trump. He had contacts as a senator where he did talk to several ambassadors not technically as a surrogate.
So unfortunately I don't think we'll see any resigning here.

You are fixated on the word surrogate when that wasn't the question...
He was asked what he would do if he learned of any evidence that
anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of the 2016 campaign.
Sessions was a foreign policy adviser to the Trump team, he campaigned with him, he himself when answering Al Frankens question said some would call him a surrogate...
He then proceeded to say "I did not have communications with the Russians"...
That was a flat out lie and I struggle to see any plausible deniability here...
