Lyricism was on point but the flow was lazy and uninspired. Sounded like he was trying to fit too many words into each bar and kept falling off beat. The subs at lupe were also weak. It's a cool song on its own mainly cause of the beat but Royce didn't bring the energy. Lupe will easily smash this.

All of this is incorrect :mjlol:

These are good for a diss towards Lu but coming from royce it wouldn’t be good imo to your point about it being contradictory. Especially with him being eminem’s hit dog :gag:

Nah Royce wasn't on the podcast caping for white cops killing black folks. I guarantee they had some talks off camera and that's part of the reason why this started. Cats on here like to call Royce a c00n but you cant get more c00n that, and he addressed it nicely in this record.

Can someone give me a quick breakdown on why they're beefing? Is it because Lupe called him a Marshall artist?

From the other thread

Quick little run down

Royce and Lupe did a IG live after RJ Payne made a statement saying him and Ransom are the two best rappers currently. Royce said rappers gonna have to prove they're the best if they keep saying it. Lupe told Royce he's not the best, he's good, but not the best. Lupe doesn't think any of the rappers saying they're the best are the best. Lupe was saying to prove who's the best they need to go to "End of the Week" and enter the competition to prove who's the best rapper objectively.

That same day Royce, Lupe, Mickey, Ransom, RJ Payne all got on IG Live and had banter back and forth, it was relatively friendly, though got heated at moments.

In subsequent days, there would be random lives between Lupe/Royce/Mickey, sometimes all 3 together, but usually 2 of the 3, kinda amping up a potential Royce and Lupe battle on URL. To the point Beasley (Co-owner), reached out to Mickey several times to set it up, but Lupe really had no interest, while Royce low key wanted to do it. This is when it started getting a little bit more "heated"

Lux and Mook were debating who'd win between Royce and Lupe in a battle, Lux had Lu, Mook had Royce. Lux called Lupe to amp it up. It kinda came to a head when Royce was on IG live with Lux/Mook/Mickey Factz and Guru (Jay's engineer). Guru/Lux and Mook were amping up the Royce and Lupe battle saying it needs to happen ASAP on Smack or RBE or any battle league. Lupe finally joins in on the convo, and basically said he doesn't really want to battle Royce, but will if nikkas keep talking shyt, he said he'll basically destroy Royce. Royce called him a "bytch" and said he'd "Break his neck" if he talked like that to him in person. That's what caused the real rift. Lupe left the live, got on his own live and did a freestyle for like 9 minutes getting at Royce, and then dropped a quick 2 minute diss (It was intended to Mook and Rex for talking reckless, but a lot of people took it as a Royce diss, but it wasn't).

Then today Royce dropped his diss, and then a few hours later Lupe dropped his.

Nah Royce at his best has an aggressive flow and delivery in his diss records

These nikkas in their late 30s/early 40s, nobody is looking at this on some street shyt, it's a contest of words and who can say the most potent shyt in the best way.
Royce need to pull out his Bar Exam 4 Flows for this

Lupe's diss was just as lightweight. :pachaha:

Both tried to take the "I'm above attacking other black men" while....attacking other black men approach.

It's funny how hard certain people wanna ride Lu for that light ass response.

Not to mention Royce floated all over this shyt, again, absolutely no respect for being in the pocket, sounding fly as fukk
and still delivering a competent diss. :dead:

He should be rapping off beat over a garbage beat about :sadcam: "You skipped class !!" :sadcam:
maybe people would recognize the skill.

Facts, the more I listen to Lu in this avenue i think this battle/diss track game is not his lane. I was riding for dude heavy in proposed battle against Kendrick, now im not so sure, very talented emcee though.

Royce definitely got something coming next if i take my mans word for it
Of course he does… this is a bait track

But I doubt he’d anticipate Lupe responding so soon & aggressively

Most people pictured a Lupe response to be quadruple entendres & abstract references dissing Royce’s great great great great great great great grandfather who was a white slave owner & tie it into his subordination to Eminem from a 5th dimensial perspective :russ:

His career failures, his constantly putting his foot in his mouth with smart/dumb nikka tweets and comments, his pretentiousness, his over obsession of Japanese culture, his somewhat c00nish behavior and statements over the years, his overall nerdiness/slash trying to be tough at the same time, I could think of more, but you can construct a viscious diss just off that alone.

Royce is guilty of all the bolded his damn self.

It's obvious Royce never really wanted to battle lupe. He's been on some "I wasn't even talking to you" shyt from the start. Trying to get Lupe to make peace but Lu wasn't having it. That's why Royce barely dissed him on this. Royce still wants to squash it. It seems like they had some animosity long before this shyt ever popped off and Lupe was just waiting for his moment to shyt on him. Royce just can't hang with Lupe and deep down he knows it.

I knew the shyt was going to go left when Royce was making slick ass comments about Lupe’s father. He didn’t even know Lu’s father had passed and he was talking shyt.

How you supposed to be “homies” with a nikka enough to start a podcast with him but not even know his pops passed? And also not know how much respect and love Lu had towards his father?
