This muscle head hype man mother fukker really forcing me to...dap Lupe Fiasco in the year of our lord, 2021. I'm disgusted.
:hhh:

Royce's track wasn't bad...but it was empty. It was a lyrical exercise, from a man who did not understand the assignment. This isn't about who can rap and who can't. I hate both these nikkas and admit they can rap - to varying levels of quality of course. So turning in a track of lyrical miracle gymnastics, while somewhat dope, gets a failing grade when the point was to diss. Yea there are some veiled shots in there, but you can't present yourself as a real rapper who really does this shyt while taking a page from the book of one Aubrey Graham. You don't win off subs.

So then I listened to the Lupe response immediately afterwards, hoping to hate it. EXPECTING to hate it. Your boy was damn near giddy to come in here and shyt on @Zero and all you other Lupe cinematic universe ass nikkas. But...Lupe bodied that shyt effortlessly. This wasn't even a brief "you know I'm gonna fukk you up right" jab, like the Stillmatic freestyle. This was straight up shot after shot, direct. And some lyrical miracle shyt thrown in to show yea I can do that shyt too.

All icy, talk spicy like the house of Atreides
:damn:

Aite Lupe, I see you. I'm still holding you personal liable for Lasers and all that other wack shyt you fed me, and best believe I'm watching TV at 1AM waiting for a hotline to call to file an audio abuse claim, like those asbestos victim commercials. But even haters gotta be fair sometimes.

You have slowly become one of my favorite posters over the years. Because even if you don’t like something your generally fair in your analysis.

Listened to both songs again, and Royce basically did what Lupe stans said Lupe is better at, and actually rapped better than Lupe did, which was what the whole shyt was about in the first place:jbhmm:

Royce won because he proved he's the better MC, and Lupe dropped a better diss song so he won the battle :manny:

So basically the exact opposite most people thought it would be
To be honest breh, I haven't really entertained the Lupe stan responses after dudes were saying
"oh he's just got Multi's", completely ignoring all the punches he set up:
Saying he uses the same basic flow that he basically bit from Jay-Z. (I've been saying this shyt for years !)
Told him he's Afu-Ra :pachaha:
Referenced his album titles, his hit songs, straight shytted on this guy in the flyest way :pachaha:

IF Lu would've flipped Royce's album titles into a bar I guarantee all of these dudes would've lost their shyt.
They still think it's dope cause he mentioned "Premo", like Lu didn't get a whole fukking leg up with a feature on
Kanye's shyt and Jay-Z executive producing his album. :pachaha:

Same clowns saying "On this is long winded..." were wetting their pants over WAV Files, Prisoners 1&2, Dots&Lines etc.
But nothing gets the eyes rollin' faster than people acting like he didn't just blackout for seven minutes :pachaha:

All I ask from Lupe stans is consistency, they stay changing the rules when it comes to their boy Lu.

It's time we stop lying about this nikka, honestly.

Like he ain't been rapping for 20 years and has 0 great albums to his name. Not even gonna use the word classic.

Like people are supposed to be scared of him because he barks on records when he has put in NO WORK OF ANY KIND on the street.

Like this nikka ain't been riding coattails his whole fukking career.

Like this so called top tier rapper hasn't lost a battle before.

The buck stops here breh

Death is Certain > Food & Liquor.
:yeshrug:

Royce Da 5'9" is the actual underground Hero that Lu stans pretend Lu is.
Grinded it out in the underground, been featured all kinds of albums, ready to spar with anybody from Vakill to Elzhi.
Classic records like Death is Certain.
Classic features like Bad Meets Evil.
An incredible mixtape run ( :wow: all the bar exams :wow: )
If it was B.o.B. or Charles Hamilton or Asher roth, y'all might have a point
but ROYCE ? NICKLE NINE ?

Again, one of THE MOST thorough Emcees walking the planet right now.

Royce was dope as fukk to me on that. Every time I listen to it I catch more. Same with Lupe's.

And yes, if we talking about the better demo, Royce got it. But this is a battle now, these are diss records. If this was a boxing match Lupe wins the round just based on punches landed.

So Rpyce track was actually a Response to Lupe 9 min freestyle? That's explains a lot..

Lu went personal.. and it was fire but If Royce goes that rout it can get crazy..

Either way I'm loving this..

As an overall song this is cool, and proves without a doubt just how fukking good Royce is at rapping. But as a diss song this wasn't it unfortunately. The shots weren't clear enough.

This reminds me of the Mistah Fab battle where Royce just came to spit vars and prove he could rap the best, not actually diss his opponent.

I'm not even hating, I will concede that this isn't a good "diss" and more of a solid song
but some of the bars in there are really good, that's only thing that seems like hating to me
when people act like it's just "whatever".
He landed some solid punches but admittedly Lu came harder out the gate.

Even if that was true Food & Liquor is like Lupe’s 3rd best album

Are we really gon sit here and act like Royce has a debut & sophomore 1-2 punch like F&L and The Cool?

Are we really gon act like Lupe wasn’t a better emcee than Royce on both their respective mixtape runs?

Are we really gon sit here & act like Royce a better artist than Lupe?

Royce has the longer catalog and this is a debate

Looks like alot of people here didn't hear the first diss from Lupe

ROYCE CALLED LU A bytch
THEN SAID HE WAS ABOUT TO
DO A DISS RECORD ALL
ON THE SAME LIVE.

Royce already went personal. Like i said before during their podcast Royce was doing shyt like speaking slick about Lupe’s dead father and other shyt.

Royce been begging for this lyrical ass whopping for awhile

It's his best IMO, if it didn't have bro breathing every other bar, it would be damn near perfect.
The production on that album > most of his discography.
That big sound, the mixing, all of that additional instrumentation.
Jay-Z and his team did that boy a service.

Are we really gon sit here and act like Royce has a debut & sophomore 1-2 punch like F&L and The Cool?
Nah. but Death is Certain is :whoo: to this day, underground classic.
I run that album back all the time, same with another underrrated spitter, Vakill and his debut The Darkest Cloud.
One of the best Chicago rappers that no one talks about.

His fist album rock city is whatever, I'm not crazy about success is certain but
Death Is Certain, Book Of Ryan, Allegory, Street Hop ? All Solid to great releases, he doesn't
really have "Lasers" in his discography mainly because there's no one to write his songs for em.
Are we really gon act like Lupe wasn’t a better emcee than Royce on both their respective mixtape runs?
He wasn't.
And he still isn't.
Bar Exam 1-4 > that whole 1st & 15th run.
Are we really gon sit here & act like Royce a better artist than Lupe?

Royce has the longer catalog and this is a debate

Royce has the longer catalog and has been in the game longer, so inevitably he has more chances to
misstep but when he lands ? He fukking LANDS.

Again, there's a lot of rappers y'all can debate on or doubt but Royce ? That dude is NICE.
It's like saying Steve Vai isn't good at guitar or Coltrane isn't good at burning up the Soprano Saxophone.

He may not be y'all cup of tea but spittin ? Royce da 5'9" is one the greatest walking this earth
RIGHT NOW and I stand by that statement completely. :yeshrug:
