I like both of these for different reasons I wish I could fuze both of these tracks together for 1 monumental instrumental

@Chubbs Man your mixing has become a1 You definitely have all the trap elements, and this is reminiscent of your trap work from 7 years ago accept updated with a crispier sound. great work

@CuzinQ This is a great storytelling record and the drums hit. and its definitely something an mc could spill their heart into.

In terms of composition I feel Q was a cut above
in terms of mixing I feel Chubbs was a cut above

My vote
@Chubbs by a razor thin margin.

This may be the battle of the week.

This is weird one.

Chubbs obviously has experience making trap and it shows especially with hats, rolls, and drums.

Q's beat had the soul behind it that I love but it's missing the trap sound from the drums. The high hats are the most glaring flaw. They need to be a lot more busy and roll to add that bounce.

I voted for Q but I should have voted for Chubbs since his beat was more trap:francis:

Extremely close battle, AND 8 ball and mjg would get busy on both of these beats :ohlawd:

Voted Chubbs based off of the drums, I dont really do trap like and that found it can be fairly difficult to lay a nice pattern :ld:. Spending time on that I barely had enough time to focus on the rest of my submission.

Got damn, Chubbs killed this shyt. Not even close imo. Best beat from him this tourney. No complaints on it.

Cuz beat was dope, but I felt like he had better beats earlier. This has more of a hard updated boom bap feel than a trap vibe.

Chubbs a vet with the trap sounds and has steadily improved. Good shyt.

This battle is crazy. I'm kind of biased on this one because I used the same sample as @CuzinQ in a previous battle a few years back, I believe. An artist I work with eventually went on to use that track on an EP, so I have a lot of history with that one in particular. As a producer, it's akin to watching someone else f**k your girl. No matter what they do/did differently, you're still going to feel some type of way. It's really not that serious, but y'all get the point:pachaha: Either way, track is fire. I love the different pieces of the sample that were sprinkled in throughout as it kept it exciting. Great beat, overall. Most likely better than my flip tbh.

That being said, it's hard for me to picture anyone beating @Chubbs in a trap round. Dude has pretty much mastered that style and his mixing/sound selection is always top-notch. This track is no exception. Super clean, trap banger. Strings, keys, thumping 808's/kicks, etc.

Everything considered, and leaving my aforementioned bias out of the equation, I went with @Chubbs for this one. Great battle, gentlemen.
