Dope battle
I can't front, usually when I hear the beginning to one of Bassington's beats i be like :wtf: but then when that shyt gets going I end up like :whew:

Will's beat took it, even though sometimes if feels like he got too many random sounds all over the place, but he somehow makes it work and it comes out sounding dope as fukk. I loved that melody. You can tell you take chances with your beats but there's a method to the madness so I can appreciate it.

Dean's beat was dope too, nothing is wrong with it to me, but I just vibed with Will's beat a lil more.

good battle brehs

@Dean_Keaton2k

:ohlawd:at that sample, did Pac call you from the grave to construct this? thats the vibe I get. Huge fan of the synth sounds you went with, it blended in well. Drums were clean and tight. Overall dope beat man.

thanks homie. I did the drums first and flipped the sample and instruments after. I'm a fan of Dre and Focus but it defintely came out of thin air :russ:. your joint goes super hard as well, those drums are nasty. :salute:

I gave the this battle to dean. Vocal Sample chop was dope, I liked the other instruments you added ontop of it to give it a even more better melody. Drums were on point to.

I liked Will's beat alot too, in aother round I coulda gave it to him too, but I didnt really hear any Soul/Jazz/Funk influence in his beat. It sounded like it had an arabic sample in it, so I couldnt give him the nod in this battle considering what I thought the round was about.

I went with dean on this one. His beat was a simple. And that is what did it for me. He had an extra synth melody in there that was crisp. Just a nice blend. Great job sir!

Of course, this is not to take anything away from WB.

WB, i need you to throw all the random sounds in the bushes. keep the verse portion and part of the break. the beat without all the random stuff is right. you ever heard the saying "less is more".

Dean, killed it. but, and this is a HUUUGE but. awful mixing my friend. one of your sounds(the bass or drums or both are drowning out everything else). its like the other sounds cant breath until certain points in the loop where the bass or drums dont hit. then you can hear everything clearly for that split second.

ay, if you have all your sounds/instruments tracked out(separated). pm me a link (so i can download a zip file of all the tracks) and i'll hit you back with how its supposed to sound. then let you know what to do next time. i cant do that without actually messing with each track separately. i can only guess right now with my ears listening to one fully mixed track. and the info i give you will completely change your mixing habits going forward. once i figured that stuff out, skies the limit.

with all that said. I'm going with Dean.

wb was different and i enjoyed it, but i voted for dean despite the over-compression that almost killed it

:whoo:

WillBass - :damn: Cold ass bassline, dope sample chops, Clean execution, Drums On point, Nice arrangement. Really really dope track breh!

Dean - Really nice sample chops and dope instrumentation, Nice sound selection, Clean hard hitting drums, Nice arrangement. Ill ass track!

This is a tough one because both of you guys brought heat this round! Gotta go based off of pure personal preference. Felt Will's vibe a bit more so I gotta go with his track. That takes absolutely nothing away from Dean's track though! Ill ass round brehs!
