I liked and enjoyed listening to both beats, but I feel like Frank's joint just hit a lil harder and the soulful vibe was stronger so he took it.

yeah the sample that I used was by Sarah Vaughn Do Away with April I would never steal somebody else’s sample cut that’s wack.JRBI haven't listened yet but RNQ about to get my vote for Vanessa Williams

I'm saying that I thought I heard it flipped the same way.
This is why I always check to see if anyone sampled a song before I start making a beat.

It sounds similar, minus the drums, that's what happens with samples sometimes lol
here is a classic example of drums changing the character of the track.

I have seen him sample. -but sometimes he will cut it up so much in some cases you cant even put your finger on what he used.
that @franknitty711 track is hard as hell.

This is Hip Hop...cats been sampling since day ONE. Going to be hard to find some shyt that hasn't been touched at all. At the same time I liked JRB's drums better than this one

Most of the beats I make are from untouched songs. I only really sample a song if it hasn't been touched, no one used the part I wanted, or I'm going to flip it differently. It's much harder to find that for soul music though.

I like to sample that way similarly
I went with Frank Knitty on this one, the production felt completed and had a very very nice vibe. Quotes beat was dope too and I like what was there foundation wise. A couple transitions could have put it over the top for me.
