A pair of welterweights looking to get back on track will meet in February at UFC 170, as Rory MacDonald squares off with Demian Maia.
The card is scheduled for February 22 from Las Vegas. The main event is expected to feature Daniel Cormier and Rashad Evans.
MacDonald (15-1) had his five-fight win streak snapped by Robbie Lawler this past November, dropping a split decision. The Tristar Gym fighter had topped Jake Ellenberger, BJ Penn and Nate Diaz during his win streak.
Maia (18-5) was defeated β also via split decision β by Jake Shields in October. That loss snapped a three-fight win streak for the former No. 1 middleweight contender.
The bout was first reported by the UFC Canada Twitter account.
