Reading through the comments section now... wow

Conspiracy to Racists to Imperialists to Anti EU to Pro EU to Left to Right and everything in between.

I liked this comment a lot. Food for thought.

I encourage people--especially those from the UK and other places outside the United States--to read the comments of Obama's critics in this discussion.

Make your own judgment.

Are Obama's critics obsessed with race?
Do these people seem racist?
Do they seem to grasp what happened when Bush was President?
Do they have a decent grasp of history?
Do Obama's critics seem to understand policy?

It's tough to govern a democracy with an insane, racist opposition party.

Unfortunately, that's what Obama has been dealing with.

And Romney--whose father was a decent guy on race issues--has taken the low road.

I'm sorry but I can't take a story seriously that uses anonymous advisors that are that loose-lipped and seemingly clueless of how defamatory the shyt they are saying is.
Two supposed quotes stand out as being just too ridiculous to have been uttered by anyone who is not functionally retarded:

“We are part of an Anglo-Saxon heritage, and he feels that the special relationship is special,” the adviser said of Mr Romney, adding: “The White House didn’t fully appreciate the shared history we have”.

The advisers could not give detailed examples of how policy towards Britain would differ under Mr Romney. One conceded that on the European crisis: “I’m not sure what our policy response is.”

C'mon, who in their right mind is going to say anything like that to a reporter? I call duck tales.
I need names and receipts before I believe that Jon Swaine didn't just make this shyt up.

of course Obama doesn't approve of Anglo-Saxon heritage. He is an indigenous Celt, oppressed for two thousand years and counting

Yeah because the notion of right-wingers saying retarded racist shyt is so outlandish. :rudy: Newt Gingrich said we can't understand Obama's mind because he holds "Kenyan anticolonial behavior" on camera and planned.

He probably just went a little too far with the clear and obvious dog whistle mantra of trying to cast Obama as foreign or un-American that Romney has adopted over the last week. That quote isn't much different than the shyt John Sununu has been saying on national television about how Obama doesn't understand the American experience because he raised in Indonesia and Hawaii and he needs to learn how to be an American.

:krs:

There's a big production film about to be released specifically about this subject.

Inspired by the book "The Root Of Obama's Rage", written by this guy ------>Dinesh D'Souza

you find it difficult accept the possibility that this was uttered by a member of a party that has attempted to sabotage obama's presidency since his inauguration? really?

C'mon, who in their right mind is going to say anything like that to a reporter?

the same type of person who would scream "YOU LIE" to a president as he delivers the state of the union address.

That quote isn't much different than the shyt John Sununu has been saying on national television about how Obama doesn't understand the American experience because he raised in Indonesia and Hawaii and he needs to learn how to be an American.

John Sununu is and has always been a bonehead (and also a bit of racist) so his gaffes don't surprise especially since they always happen when he is live on TV trying to be "confrontational". And I don't have a problem believing Romney's people are capable of saying stupid shyt because it has been happening pretty regularly since this election season started.
All that being said the fact that these are quotes from unnamed advisors and the content of them is so blatantly racially insensitive that makes me doubt this stories veracity. Why are they unnamed? What is the point of Swain not divulging exactly who he was talking to? Its not like this was some deep cover investigative piece; from the way this story reads it was just a regular interview with Romney's staff in advance of his trip to London. Keeping their names hidden as if they are top secret sources is sketchy at best and just strikes me as not passing the smell test. And the supposed reason of their requesting anonymity so as to not be seen as criticizing the President while they go about criticizing the president doesn't make a lick of sense to me.
