WWE Wrestler of the Year: The Miz

That's right: The Miz. I don't care if he's off shooting The Marine Part XL or on the precipice of paternity leave. It doesn't matter that he's not in contention for a world title any time soon, or that he's left his poor Miztourage of Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel to fend for themselves during his absence. He is still a leader. In fact, he's been the de facto leader of Raw for most of the past several months, stepping up when others were hurt or stuck in storyline limbo, taking his licks against the biggest names in the biz and coming out scathed but frequently hoisting Intercontinental gold above his shoulders. Mike Mizanin and that prestigious belt have become synonymous over his frankly illustrious decade-plus career, itself an improbable manifestation of a publicly documented quest to flower from Midwest naïf to eponymous sports entertainer.

Rolling Stone makes an AWESOME pick for their WWE Wrestler of the Year

After a long run in the Royal Rumble, Miz - along with wife Maryse - turned a mixed tag WrestleMania feud where there was little doubt about the outcome into “Must See” stuff. He moved over to Raw and gave us the most entertaining take we’ve had on a “crazy” feud with Dean Ambrose in some time, took undercarders Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel and turned them into his Miztourage and climbed the ranks of all-time great Intercontinental champions - while consistently delivering good matches and saving every talking segment he was given (even The Ball Family debacle).

the response :wow:

Last year was Miz' year when he was owning Bryan on Talking Smack every week. This was either Braun's or AJ's year.

I'm cool with it. Miz was basically relegated to being a side prop but worked his way into being one of the top heels on Raw :manny:

The obvious choice was AJ but he'll be fine without an award from Rolling Stone.
