I'm trying to decide which is the better value. I am trying to cut out cable but how do I get around live sports? which one will get me closer? I Know boxee is more expensive but is it worth it? Any comments, opinions or criticisms accepted...

WD Live Streaming. Have had it for over a year and love it. Plays anything, has wifi, and all the popular streaming services. I literally use it daily.

Smart TVs Are Gonna Bury These Types Of Lil Boxes

I doubt it.

Streaming TVs don't and probably won't ever have as many channels as the dedicated streaming boxes. I have 2 smart TVs with apps and I've never used them at all.

Stream everything from my PS3s, Xbox or Roku.

I Have A Smart TV Also And Best Believe I Am NOT Turning On My XBOX To Use An App My TV Already Has.

As Time Goes On TVs Will Come With More Apps/Services Built In And All These Boxes Wont Be Necessary

Your TV has ESPN3, HBOGo? Will it have League Pass as well?

Im Talking About As Time Goes On, Not RIGHT Now

You're Telling Me If Your TV Had All Those Services On Your TV You Would Have Still Use Those Boxes?

You Telling Me RIGHT NOW That If Your On A TV That Has Nexflix Built In That You're Turning Your XBOX On To Watch Netflix On It? :heh:

But I Guess It Will Always Be An Option For People That Choose Not To Get A Smart TV :manny:

I do it now all the time.

My TV has Netflix, but I turn on my PS3 instead. Navigating with the controller and the UI on the consoles/boxes is a bit more convenient IMO.

Also, in my bedroom where my Roku is at, I don't even use the remote, I use my phone with the app to navigate the thing.

I'll admit, the TV I have in the mancave, I've never even tried out the apps on it to gauge how much I like the UI on it, but I just like moving around with a controller instead of a remote.
:yeshrug:

EDIT: But shyt, maybe I should start using the TV cause my ComED bill be looking :scusthov: @ times

I don't want to rely on one device to do everything, what if your tv breaks? Now you can't stream anything. Plus it's cheaper to spend 60-$100 on a roku than $1900 on a tv

the tv my ps3 is hooked up to is a smart tv, and I NEVER use the apps other than HBO go because netflix runs faster on my ps3 and the dualshock is more responsive than my tv's remote. I am probably gonna buy another tv and move the smart tv to another room that doesn't have netflix.
