"A Rocky TV show from Sylvester Stallone is reportedly a possibility. An unknown talent at the time, Stallone first starred as the titular small-time club fighter from Philadelphia who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot at the title in 1976's Rocky, a film which he also wrote. Over the years, Stallone starred in five Rocky sequels, writing all of them and directing some. Today, the Rocky franchise lives on in the form of Creed, with Stallone returning as Rocky for the first two spinoff films. Though Stallone didn't return for Creed 3, he remained on board as a producer.

Now, as Amazon Studios plans to flesh out the boxing franchise, a Rocky TV show from Stallone is reportedly a possibility, per Deadline. The studio recently signed a first-look deal with Stallone and his production company, Balboa Productions, for both film and TV projects. The trade's sources say that "expanding the Rocky brand into television may be part" of that deal. Development could move slowly due to the underlying issues involving the Rocky movie rights and the dispute between Stallone and producer Irwin Winkler.

The Rocky Franchise Future Plans Explained

Amazon Studios, which officially acquired MGM's extensive library of IP in March 2022, already had plans for a wider Creed universe spanning film and TV from franchise star and newly-minted director Michael B. Jordan. This includes a percolating spinoff centered on Adonis and Bianca's deaf daughter, Amara, who was played by Mila Davis-Kent in Creed 3. An anime series is also in the works after Jordan took significant inspiration from Japanese animation for Creed 3's fight scenes. A previously-announced Drago spinoff movie written by Robert Lawton is also in development, but it's unclear if it will actually get made.

A Rocky TV show from Stallone is just the latest project to become a possibility at Amazon. Though there are no official details yet, the show would likely explore a younger Rocky's origin story as a boxer, his early club fights, and his time as a loan shark debt collector for the Philly mafia. In light of his first-look deal with the studio, Stallone would probably produce the Rocky TV show if it happens, though he could possibly write it as well."

He couldn't tolerate Creed getting too much attention :mjpls:
Basically...

He even said he considered Rocky "done" until Ryan Coogler came along. Coogler pitched Creed to Stallone and Sly wasn't interested until he saw Fruitvale Station.

He wasn't thinking about that franchise till Ryan Coogler rejuvenated it.
