Defense is still there. The key to it is pass rush tho. Dominant pass rushers should be the 2nd highest paid position in the league tbh

you need guys like Geno Atkins and Justin Tuck and Haloti Ngata to be a true top D. Guys who can be dominant rushing the passer up the middle while also being able to play the run effectively.

The only problem is this is probably the hardest kind of player to find in the NFL. And honestly, it's all about matchups and being hot/healthy at the right time. And shyt just has to go right for you, there is no rhyme or reason except for get to the tournament and roll the dice to see where you land. If you get there every year, there'll be a good chance that you at least GET to the big game once or twice.

You could argue those steelers teams won with defense but 2nd one was a shoot out and first was just won by the refs


Last team to truly win with defense was 2002 bucs

It ain't even about having a top D it's about match ups and TOs. Giants and Pats D were horrible all through the season but they matched up well against each other offense. Skins D was bottom of the league but gave Giants O problems

Justin Tuck was unreal in that 07 run. Especially in the SB, but I will admit that he probably doesn't belong in a conversation with the other two. Kinda proves the greater point even further, guys like that are RARE.

Justin has shoulder injuries and he's an emo. I wouldn't include Geno either, I need more than 3 good years.
