A few weeks ago I made a thread asking what was the best Hip Hop produced album after The Chronic. Well today after going through my UGK catalog and listening to Ridin' Dirty for the first time in a long time, I'd have to say this album is the second best produced Hip Hop album after The Chronic.

:wow:

But Ridin Dirty is definitely up there. The Chronic on the other hand is mad overrated imo..

Life After Death.

But I do love Ridin' Dirty. Bun was posessed by the holy ghost on "Murder" :whew:, and "One Day" is such a great joint, still moves me :wow:

And what about The Infamous? A big part of it's flawnessnes was the crispness of the production. Listen to the OG versions of songs like "Eye For An Eye" and "Right Back At You" and then listen to the album versions. The difference is huge.

The Main Ingredient is good and all but I wouldn't say it's in the same class as The Chronic or Ridin' Dirty.

:childplease:

This not in the same class? :usure:
shyt is just a masterful piece of work :sadcrying: and I'm probably one of the biggest UGK stans on The Coli, but it's definitely as good if not better than Ridin Dirty and the Chronic.

Life After Death is cool but nah. It doesn't have that same feel that Ridin' Dirty does throughout the whole album.

And The Infamous is a good pick but the production on Ridin' Dirty is just so precise and crisp. Now I know it's all a matter of opinion whether one likes production to sound more raw or crisp but the production on Ridin' Dirty to me is just that nice. :wow:

Yes ridin dirty was a greatly produced album. But here are a few of my favorite produced albums off the top of my head:

-Ready to Die
-Pete Rock-Soul Survivor
-Game -documentary, RED album
Roots-Things fall a part
Common-Be
Kanye-Late Registration
Blue Carpet treatment (highly slept on production)
Urban Legend
The Carter 1 (Mannie was on point thru that entire album) :whew:
Jay-z -American Gangster
Blueprint 1-production was :wow:

Ridin Dirty was simply a classic album period. I have this entire album chopped and screwed and it still sounds as dope as the regular version :wow:

It is a classic but it's not as great as this, breh:

UGK Ft 3-2 - Touched - YouTube

UGK - Good Stuff - YouTube

UGK - Pinky Ring - YouTube

And then the outro, the outro is better than most cats whole albums! :wow:

My issue is that you said it's not in the same class which I would have to disagree with. The Main Ingredient is probably when Pete Rock was at his best. I can understand saying Ridin Dirty is better, but to say it's not in the same breath is a little disrespect to the Main Ingredient, friend. :barkley:
