Gwinnett County police are searching for two suspects they say were involved in a shootout that sent one man to the hospital.
An innocent bystander was pumping gas at a Quick Trip in the 3400 block of Centerville Highway when he was shot in the foot. He was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
According to police, the driver of a white Dodge Journey backed into a parking space and approached the passenger in a silver car. While the suspect is speaking with the passenger of the silver car, the passenger of the white Dodge exited the vehicle, holding a handgun, and walked along the sidewalk away from the driver.
The driver of the silver car suddenly drove forward at an accelerated speed, and the suspect standing at the passenger side window pulled out a handgun from his pocket and started to shoot in the direction of the silver car. The passenger of the white Dodge ran back towards the Dodge and also opened fire on the silver car as it was fleeing the parking lot.
Both suspects chased after the victim's vehicle as it exited the parking lot.
