Rey Mysterio signs a new deal with WWE

According to a report from WrestlingStandard.com, Rey Mysterio has signed a new two-year contract with WWE that will begin on August 1st. The site reports that the 43-year-old could return as early as the SmackDown! Live TV tapings in Brooklyn, NY, two days after SummerSlam.

Mysterio reportedly met with WWE officials 10 days ago, when the WWE RAW brand came to San Diego, CA (Rey’s hometown). While Vince McMahon was not backstage at the show, the negotiations were finalized during that event.
