this dude i work with has a 27" (LED i think) monitor that has a damaged screen and said i could have it but the screen needed to be replaced. i have a nice 23" LED right now and was wondering if it was worth it or even possible to fix this 27" monitor.

The D (where it's so cold)
You should call Sears, I know they sell replacement components or will try to force a service technician on you with the replacement parts. LEDs are the worse though if the problem is anything other than one of those tiny bulbs going bad. If it's the glass panel display than that would explain why your co worker is giving it away.

You could check CL to see if their is an electronic parts harvester in your area and take the broken LED and flip it for a few bucks (I do this when my job offers up old office equipment like flat screens and towers) or see if they have a replacement screen (if that is what's damaged).

Honestly, all jokes aside... If it's an led, it's not worth fixing especially being that small, it'll be cheaper buying a new one.
