As much as played Mario 64, I don't think I really liked it more than any other platformer tbh.

We should have a "GOAT Mario side game" thread because paint is #1 in the clubhouse for sure. Shouts to Mario teaches typing too, it literally taught a generation of kids how to type.

No cap, i played mario paint more than mario world on SNES, and i played A LOT of super mario world, it was the only game i had with All Stars for like a year

Wonder is good but it aint in the GOAT convo imo. thing about mario is they dont miss. But what marios really changed the game. Galaxy 2 was non stop creativity and pure platforming goodness. Adding Yoshi tilted the whole game on its head. Top 5 for me (more a fan of 3D mario than anything):

I don't, but it get it.

Bigger game, cape flying mechanics, really memorable worlds with multiple exits everywhere making the game deeper, also iconic music (not as iconic as 3 imo but stands on its own), and different playing mechanics even if you don't include Yoshi (like climbing on fences).

IMO 3 is better...world is "more"
