Bryan Bertino’s The Strangers is a lean and incredibly mean home invasion story featuring three mask-wearing invaders with a taste for violence. Bertino’s unrelenting nihilism in the film made it stand out among the pack. Ten years later, it got a sequel, The Strangers: Prey at Night, from Johannes Roberts who imbued his take on the series with that nihilism.

Now, as shared exclusively by the Boo Crewon the Bloody Disgusting podcast network, three more films in The Strangers series are reportedly on their way. And very quickly. During their forthcoming interview with horror producer Roy Lee, who discovered the original film’s screenplay, he revealed that three more films on moving into production next month.

He said, “I think the next three are in production next month with another filmmaker that people will know.”

Bloody Disgusting also revealed that at least one of the films will be directed by horror filmmaker Renny Harlin. He most notably directed A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master and Deep Blue Sea. Harlin also took the director’s chair for Prison (1987), Exorcist: The Beginning (2004), The Covenant (2006), and Devil’s Pass (2013).
